In the name of Dr. Pichet Choonphipat, the general director, Mr. John expressed that the Hospital is happy to welcome us and to have us conducting our meetings on their premises.
The actual year-contract will be updated and entered anew. It might be possible that, at the day of our meeting, the conference room would needed by the Hospital itself.
The notice time of 2 weeks in advance is no longer tenable and has to be brought back to a couple of days only.
|The Club will have to cope with that. The Club’s Members are advised, prior to go to the meeting, to check the Clubs’ website for possible changes.|
He is also happy to let us know that an intensive renovation program for over 100 million Baht has been engineered and set in motion.
Among others the most up-to-date body-scan-equipment will be installed.
There will be “full house” doctors of all disciplines, cardiology being a priority. The objective is to set up the best and 24 hrs. available heart centre in this area with even the option for open heart surgery.
There will be an improved and 24 hrs. emergency service.
Emergency calls (1719) can be answered in English.
The Emergency room will be fully equipped with modern up to date material.
There is an ambulance on stand-by with paramedic, doctor, nurse and fully equipped.
In the case of a stroke or heart attack emergency staff will be available. This statement will be checked and confirmed later by the hospital.
The aim is to be a patient-friendly family hospital and offer the best medical service to patients. Equivalent with the services rendered in Bangkok and elsewhere.
There will be, for example an improved program for medical training and English training for the hospitals’ staff.
The Grand Opening will be on 12-12-2012 and we are all invited.
There also is an Insurance program for all ages (even if you will become 100 year or more). It is set up as a Membership Program.
It will valid for 3 years and shall be renewed then. This Membership Program covers any Bangkok hospital.
It comprises in general: Free yearly check-ups, discount on accommodation, medicine, etc. You are entitled to receive 3 times the premium you contributed.
For details see the website (www.bangkokhospital.com) or contact the hospital.
The costs for an annual check-up are still the same at the time. The are tree check-ups packages (as before).
It is recommended to register yourselves at the hospital at your earliest convenience and let them have your medical records.
That will save valuable time at an emergency check in. The policy is “First save life and then ask for money”. Credit cards are accepted.
In case you don’t have a health insurance yet, Mr. John Thavon is always available to assist in getting the best possible, fitting your needs and personal situation.
It is not possible to write down in this minute all price tables and the belonging services provided, because everybody has different requirements, options and conditions.
If you have any questions about the hospital, please inform Mr. Thavon or us at least 1 week in advance of the next meeting.
At the next member’s meeting he or his Staff will be present to answer your questions.

Note from the Secretary: On August 29 he went home again.
– Since last month there has been an open weekly “Wednesday morning Brunch”.
The location is: The Book House Restaurant at Lake Nong Sim Public Park (Udon Map Ref 06).

You are not obliged to consume anything, however, in case you would like to, their restaurant is good.
– It seems that MAKRO have opened some mini-stores for frozen food in Udon. Does anyone know where such a store is?
– The fact that Breivik (the Norwegian man that killed 77 people July 22- 2011) got 21 years in prison does not mean that he will be free after he did that time.
After those 21 years, the judge will prolong his time to another 21 years, and so on until he dies. In fact he received a live sentence
– For the next meeting we will bring Club-shirts. Those who do not have one yet (or two), may buy them at the spot.
– Those who are interested to join for playing golf, please inform our Activity Committee.
– For those who do not already do, it is recommended to learn and practice Thai. Try it on a day by day basis. Every day one or two words.
Practice with your partner, family and friends. After a while you will experience that living in Thailand provide even more pleasure by understanding and speaking the language.
Even though it is only a little Thai you speak.
