UDON THANI EXPATS CLUB
ANNUAL CLUB REPORT ON THE YEAR 2015
In line with the CONSTITUTION and BY-LAWS, the Organization of the Club is embedded in a CLUB BOARD of five members and a number of COMMITTEES.
The CLUB BOARD of five is formed by three general Board members, a Treasurer and a Secretary, where one of the Board members acts as the Chairman during Club meetings and appropriate Club functions.
In addition we have an assistant Treasurer, an assistant Secretary, a Webmaster, and an (financial) Inspector.
Much to our pleasure, with thanks to the cooperation and continuous support of our members, we could conclude that the year 2015 has been a pleasant year.
At the Annual General Membership Meeting on January 25, 2015 the election and installation of the Board and Assistants took place under the direction of Dr. Bernard.
For the CLUB BOARD:
Peter Edwards, Paul Georgakis, Hans van Geffen and Joop van Spaandonk. The fifth position, for the time being, remained vacant.
On the member meeting of October 25, 2015, Gary Ralston was elected to the CLUB BOARD.
For Secretary + Assistant Secretary: Joop van Spaandonk + Wulf Dieter Krueger. For Treasurer: Hans van Geffen.
The position for the Assistant Treasurer remained vacant throughout the year. For (financial) Inspector: Dean Bernhardt.
For the COMMITTEES:
Jacob William Thomas (PR, Marketing and Sponsors),
Paul Georgakis (Membership and Nominating) plus (Sponsors and Refreshments),
Nick Schoots (IT, Webmaster and Facebook),
Tom Dahlqvist (Club photographer),
Eckehart Lynen (PR, Marketing and Sponsors),
Nathan Grady (PR, Marketing and Facebook).
Sven Hedell (Coordinator for Volunteers in education),
Paul Mueller (Leader for the Radio and TV program)
Later during the year:
In April; Nick Schoots resigned as Webmaster and IT
In August, David Lee and Mike Cosenza volunteered for the Committees,
In September; David Lee entered Refreshments with Paul Georgakis as 1st back-up,
In October; Gary Ralston entered as Club photographer,
In November; Tom Dahlqvist resigned as Club photographer,
In December; The Club put her Facebook activities on HOLD
Much to our regret many vacancies in the Committees remained throughout the year.
Last year 3 members; Lars Brandt, the Club’s founder, Bob Nelson and Victor Starnes passed away. May they rest in peace.
The Club’s financial position shows stable figures. However, due to most generous donations for Activities, the balance shows a negative “Years Result”.
The details are shown in the “Annual Financial Report” of the Treasurer.
We faced no shut-downs of the Website.
After Nick’s resignation in April; the Club entered an agreement with “Udon Web Design “, Mr. Karl Balsmeier.
Karl is working on a technical upgrade with the aim to boost the number of visits and to attract more members, sponsors and advertisers by keeping in mind that the website provides for a major part of the Club’s communications between its (potential) Members, (potential) Sponsors and the Community as a whole.
Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob W. Thomas, Paul Georgakis and David Lee, we enjoyed refreshments at all our Member Meetings and appropriate functions. In particular we like to express our gratitude to Mrs. Jacob W. Thomas for the delicious spring rolls and Hotel Much che Manta for the patisseries they presented.
Thanks to the efforts of us all, the Club grew to about 70 active Members, 1 Honorary Member, 6 Associate Members and a growing number of potential members.
The Club listed fourteen (14) Sponsors and is in ongoing discussions with potentials.
On the member meeting of November 29, 2015 a “Computer Group”, with David Lee as facilitator, was established.
The “Raising Awareness Group”, with Nick Schoots as facilitator, continued her activities.
