ANNUAL CLUB REPORT ON THE YEAR 2012
Following the unstable years 2010 and 2011, we hoped for a stable 2012. However it worked out different.
Lars Erik Brandt, The founder(2008/2009), was the first President. He handed over the helm to Tim Richards in November 2010.

The year 2012
The Club faced an identity/ board crisis during the first 5 month of 2012.
At the Members Meeting in May and at the edge of dissolution, the members decided to continue with the Club.
The basis shall be equality among members and no official registration of the Club.
A (temporary) Organization Plan on the basis of Committees has been created and accepted in June.
The Organization is embedded in an Administration Committee (AC).
The (AC) encloses a Leadership Committee (LC) and the Standing Committees (SC).
The LC encloses the 3 Masters of Ceremony (MC), the Treasurer and the Secretary.
The SC encloses the Treasurer’s assistant, the Secretary’s assistant and the leaders and members of the Standing Committees.
The (temporary) positions within the Committees were filled in as follows:
For MC: Tom Dahlqvist, Hans Smedberg and Hans van Geffen
For Treasurer + assistant: Herman Broeckx and Jan Harms,
For Secretary + assistant: Joop van Spaandonk and Wulf Dieter Krueger.
For SC: Eckehart Lynen with assistance of LC members. Later on in the year, Nick Schoots, Dr. Bernard Hershhorn and Jake William Thomas signed in.
Most to our regret many vacancies remained.
An election, for all positions, shall be hold at next Annual Member meeting in January 2013, following the new Constitution.
The Constitution Committee (Egil Mjolhus, Dr Bernard Hershhorn, Dirk Haster, Kenneth Falk and Richard Dinsdale) formed in November 2011, has been encouraged to continue to draft a revised Constitution.
The revised Constitution and By–Laws together with the Organization Planwaspresented, approved and adopted in November 2012.
We faced a shut down of the Website by the Server on 17–09–2012.
Thanks’ to the Webmaster we were back in the air on 23–09–2012.
The same happened in 2011. However that, also because of a management conflict, continued for several months.
In order to avoid future problems the Server was changed.
That is why we now have: www.udonexpatsclub.com
During 2012 there were;
– Eleven (11) Member Meetings (8 at the Hospital and 3 at Paradise Hotel),
– Guest speakers with diverse subjects;
|o Health insurance,
o Tourist police,
o Health promotions,
o Doomsday 21- 12–2012.
Ten (10) LC meetings,
Two (2) AC meetings,
Four (4) Website meetings and a number of cross contacts,
Numerous Activity meetings and Contacts among the Committee members,
Most interesting and easy conversations at the, new introduced, Wednesday’s- Brunch assembly,
The introduction of a Travel-group and a Golf-club,
The introduction of a Forum, Cartoons and Short stories at the Website.
|o The Orchid farm,
o The Smart Driving School,
o The house of Peter Boenisch,
o The Horse races,
o The Udon Football stadium,
o The Annual X-mas dinner.
Mostly because of the severe problems in the first 5 month of the year the Club’s financial position is weak. The details are shown in the Financial Report.
Thanks to donations by compassioned members we managed to survive.
Unfortunately but understandable, in the first period of the year, some members choose to resign. We express our hope on their return.
During the year new members signed in. At present we have over 40 Members and applications in progress.
